WKC 2012
Well here we are the kids have made it through the regionals and are off to the nationals representing Ontario and hopefully Canada at the world championships.

2011 Coming to a close
Long time since I have updated whats going on.. Well lets see Kids made the Canadian Karate team again… So that started fundraising, training and repeat all over again..
It really is a fulltime job for them and us getting them everywhere, more tournaments, more travel and keeping them motivated for the trip..
The normal chaos continued, Brooke training for Chinese forms and Korean forms trained well and then made it to the medal rounds for Korean and came home with a bronze medal..
Tyler trained for weapons and his Tonfa.. 2 weeks before leaving he broke his weapons and had to move to his backup pair….. He made it through the changes and too the medal rounds at the worlds where he came home with a bronze..
Spain was a whirlwind of activity, with travel, excitement, travel and more travel.. we flew from Toronto to Paris then to Malaga.. We drove from Malaga to the Cadiz region where the event was held.. We stayed for just over a week and then made the trip back…. Not much time to travel this time around…
The kids have settled in to normal routine again.. it was was great times and the kids made us proud…
Next year if the kids decide to compete will be in montreal and we expect even more of a turnout for making the team this time around being on home soil.

Summer is here
Well here we are summer 2011
With much hardwork Brooke and Tyler made a run for the national team but fell a little short after 3 days . They were so close . But no spain or them this year. So now we get a summer to enjoy, that will be a change from last year
We did a tournament in the boston area and he three all came home with trophies.
So some camping is planned and more relaxing

Here we are the 10th of may
We took some downtime to relax and reflect. With the ramp up coming for the national wkc trials and the chaos that ensues with training for the worlds we took a much needed break. We chose to head up to the Muskoka Marriott and leverage some points I had earned. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
So I sit here writing this and the news shows the insane price of gas. 140 litre.
The long weekend we will find out what the summer will bring. Will the kids be representing Canada at the world championships? Or will we have a summer off? Time will tell. The kids have a good chance at making the team. With both Tyler and Brooke being in multiple divisions.

April 2011
Well, the kids have both qualified to move on to the nationals after a fiercely competitive regional. Tyler has made it on 6 divisions and Brooke on 4 divisions. Now the real training ramps up for the run for the national karate team. They have a great chance at going to the worlds again..
Unfortunately with the good comes the bad.. Our beloved companion for the last 5+ years has passed away Tues April 12th 2011. Baily our golden retriever who has been a loyal companion and protector of our family put up a brave effort to fight leukemia. We did not find out how ill he was until Monday and he passed away on his own Tues morning. It was a long hard day for us all.. He was a very important family member for us. We brought him home and paid our respects and placed him in spot that overlooks the yard and where the kids play. Bailey will be greatly missed!
And the beat marches on
Well here we sit. 2 days to go. The kids are all sick and mom and dad army too far behind. Tyler and Brooke have decided to compete outside of there core divisions this time entering numerous styles hard, Korean, Chinese, traditional. Etc
If they make it through to the nationals expect bus to go underground for an intense training period between april and the end of may
